Events » Wyman Shoots UK exhibition
Wednesday 17th October 2007
Bill Wyman has brought his Wyman Shoots photographic exhibition to the UK town of Peebles, and is showing his historic collection of rare photos that chart the early days of his time with the Rolling Stones, as well as intimate images of the likes of Elton John, Eric Clapton, and John Lennon. Other highlights include candid, backstage photos of the likes of John Lee Hooker and BB King.
The exhibition, which runs throughout October at the Eastgate Theatre and Arts Centre, will feature a special Blues Odyssey Day on October 17, and An Audience With Bill Wyman on October 18.
The exhibition is a result of Bill hearing about the plight of the 200-seat arts venue, which had been facing closure until just over a year ago. Bill's Blues Odyssey Day will see Bill co-host a day-long event teaching local secondary schoolchildren the history of blues music.
An Audience With Bill Wyman will see Bill talk about his career with the Rolling Stones, his love for the music that inspired his Blues Odyssey, and his photographic career. His passion for history and metal detecting will also be talked about in an interview with Edi Stark of BBC Radio Scotland. Tickets for the evening cost £45, and all profits go to the Eastgate Theatre and Arts Centre.
