With Bill now safely embedded in Cahors for the evening's gig as part of the tremendous Cahors Blues Festival, Thursday afternoon got off to a good start. Bill and the Rhythm Kings headed to the open-air venue in the town square to practice - and the venue scored well on the sound front. With practice over, Bill did a handful of interviews to a crowd of French journalists, which he reckoned was quite a funny event.

The evening saw an electric atmosphere descend on Cahors, with the Denise Allen Band opening the proceedings at 6:30, and Steve 'Big Man' Clayton picking up the baton at 8:30. Bill and the Rhythm Kings, along with Gary Brooker walked onto the stage after ten, and their set rippled through the crowd, generating a fantastic vibe across the historic square.

The set included I Got A Woman (Georgie), Show Me (Beverley), Jump Jive & Wail (Albert), Too Late (Terry), Chicken Shack Boogie (Geraint), All Night Long (Bill), Melody (Georgie/Beverley), Let The Good Times Roll (Gary/Georgie), Good Golly Miss Molly (Gary), Three Cool Cats (Georgie), You're Looking Good (Beverley), Cakewalk Into Town (Geraint), I'm Ready (Albert), Honky Tonk Women (Bill), Jambalaya (Georgie), Drown In My Own Tears (Beverley), Race With The Devil (Terry), Johnny B. Goode (Geraint), That's Rock And Roll (Albert), You Never Can Tell (Bill), I Put A Spell On You (Beverley). Encores included A Whiter Shade Of Pale (Gary), Sweet Soul Music (Gary), and Tear It Up (Albert).

The crowd lapped it up, and the band left the stage to loud applause.

On Friday, and the rest of the band jetted of to Nice on the early flight - with Bill taking to the road in baking temperatures heading to St.Paul de Vence. Bill and Terry clocked up 425 miles during the day, fact fans. In the evening, Bill headed out for what he says was a great evening meal, where he also met up with Roger Moore.
